P90X: Final Results After 90 Days

Disclaimer: I am posting pictures that show more skin than normal. I do this to show the results that this program has to offer and not to make anyone feel uncomfortable. This is a P90X testimonial.

Wow. I cannot believe that 90 days....(13 WEEKS) of P90X is over. Honestly, I feel like it flew by. I have said it before, but I have to say it again: I honestly have my husband to thank for this. Initially, I did not want him to spend the money on it. I really thought it would be a waste- not because I didn't think it would work- but because I thought we couldn't do it/wouldn't stick with it. We are living proof that this CRAZY HARD program not only helped us lose some weight, it changed our lives! I have more energy, higher confidence and make better life choices when it comes to food.

Take a look at my progress.

12/25/10
This picture was taken Christmas morning. It was 1 week and 1 day prior to starting P90X.

1/1/11
(1) This is my DAY 1 of P90X picture
(2) Yes, it would have been better had I smiled; however, I didn't expect to EVER show this picture.
(3) No, I do not feel awkward putting a very unflattering picture of me in this blog because it is all about progress. It doesn't get more real than this people. :)
3/5/11
60+ days into the program and -16 pounds/-30 inches

3/24/11 (happy birthday to me)
(1) 1 week and 2 days until P90X Cycle 1 is finished
(2) I know this picture could be somewhat awkward for some; however, (a) it's a bathing suit (b) this blog is all about the progress I have made with the program. Making myself vulnerable by putting this picture up is to show that this program really works!

Final
-20.8 pounds and -36.5 inches!

While I am stoked with the results, I cannot stop here. My plan is to take this next week off. No work outs. I will still eat basically the same as I am now, but I want to give my body a break. After the week off, I will start P90X up again. This time I plan on doing the lean version that has a bit more cardio and less weight lifting. I am realistic enough to know that in the next 13 weeks it is unlikely that I would lose the same amount of weight and inches. The reason I feel this way is because the first 10 pounds I lost in Cycle 1 came off quickly. I believe this was due to the fact that my body went into shock because it wasn't used to the food or the workout regime. Even though I am giving my body a week off from the workouts, it will still be accustomed to eating better and exercising.

My goal for Cycle 2 in P90X is 15 pounds. 15 pounds in 13 weeks seems somewhat unrealistic- but I would rather have a high goal to shoot for than a low one that doesn't push me. I will be happy with 10, but I want 15. If come July 9th, 2011 (the end of my next 13 weeks) I am down a total of 30-35 pounds....I will be beside myself with excitement. :)

Wish me luck and thanks for your support!

  1. Great progress, Sarah! don't be surprised if you keep losing weight in your off week since your metabolism is still going to be rocking. Good luck on your next round.
